Lenovo Skylight Smartbook

It appears that the new Lenovo Skylight is definately in the smartbook category. As before its not as powerful as a netbook but more powerful than your smartphone.
The Lenovo Skylight uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which runs at 1 GHz, and uses a chip thats more or less the same as the ones in the LG Expo and the HTC HD2. Netbooks tend to use the new Intel Atom N450, but, it appears that the smartbooks are going to use more mobile phone parts than laptop or netbook parts. In turn this will keep them much lighter and portable
The Skylight also runs a Linux operating system and not Windows 7, meaning the processesor is not going to be worked too hard, plus, with the Amazon MP3 store and Roxio’s CinemaNow service the Skylight still has some good web facilities on board, allowing you to watch videos and download.
It is thought that the Lenovo Skylight will also be able to run HD content at 720p with its 1280 x 720p resolution. On top of all this the smartbook comes with a flash memory of 20GB, two USB ports and a 1.3-megapixel camera. With planned shipping to take place around April in the US, it shouldn’t be long till we see one over in the UK. The only unfortunate thing is the price, it is thought they will be available for $499.
