Toshiba TG01 – Is this the first Smartbook?

So, is the Toshiba TG01 the first smartbook. With smartbooks not being planned for release until the Autumn of 2009, have Toshiba decided to jump the gun. Well, according to Jean-Varaldi, who is a senior director of marketing and business development at Qualcomm, the company producing the snapdragon processor, seems to think so. He recently referred to the Toshiba TG01 as the first Smartbook.

The TG01 has, at the moment, the biggest screen you can find for a smartphone / smartbook, at a whopping 4.1 inches. Coupled with the fastest processor (the reason for the smartbook name) of 1GHz it makes it the most powerful phone around.
